Fitness Class: A MATTER OF BALANCE - Spring 2024
Corewell Health:
Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities.  
A MATTER OF BALANCE is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels.

You will learn to:
~ View falls as controllable
~ Set goals for increasing activity
~ Make changes to reduce fall risks at home
~ Exercise to increase strength and balance

Who should attend?
~ Anyone concerned about falls
~ Anyone interested in imporving balance, flexibility,and strength
~ Anyone who has fallen in the past
~ Anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concerns


Dates:       Thursdays, April 11 - May 30*
Time:        10:00am - 12:00pm
Location:   Neighborhood Club Board Room, Second Floor
                 *April 11 & May 2  class will be in the Community Room, First Floor
Cost:         Free to the public

Participants are expected to attend at least 6 - 8 sessions of this 8 week program.
Max. 15, Min. of 5 participants.

Fitness Class: Restoration on the Ball Spring 2024
This self-care course not only goes through physical modalities of self-care, but also into the emotional and spiritual, and helps us to reconnect with the heart and soul of who we are.

This self-care class uses soft therapy ball placement throughout the body to improve posture and relieve pain and tension patterns via myofascial release.  This gentle myofascial release technique supports your overall wellness by activating the parasympathetic nervous system for a more vibrant mind, body and spirit.  Feel like a refreshed an whole version of yourself!

About the instructor:  Barbara is a licensed massage therapist, Medical Reiki Master, Holistic Wellness Coach, Licensed Massage Therapist, and Yoga teacher.  She incorporates many modalities into her practice..... Craniosacral Therapy, Tapping (emotional freedom technique), meditation, acupressure, creative visualization, aromatherapy and much more.

Retreat for the Mind:  Meditation for Stress Relief and General Well Being

This workshop will teach scientific techniques of Yoga Meditation that are universally accepted to reduce stress and create a sense of upliftment and contentment.  The instructor, Roy E. Thibodeau, has been practicing and teaching Meditation and Yoga for more than 50 years.  All levels of experience Welcome!
