Fitness Class: A MATTER OF BALANCE - Spring 2025
Corewell Health:
Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities.  
A MATTER OF BALANCE is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels.

You will learn to:
~ View falls as controllable
~ Set goals for increasing activity
~ Make changes to reduce fall risks at home
~ Exercise to increase strength and balance

Who should attend?
~ Anyone concerned about falls
~ Anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility,and strength
~ Anyone who has fallen in the past
~ Anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concerns

Fitness Class: Holistically Empowered Integrative Yoga and Wellness Class
This is truly a unique yoga class, designed to soothe the soul,
strengthen the body, and address the pressures of modern life.
This class blends ancient wisdom with contemporary neuroscience
for a holistic experience. It integrates traditional yoga, Zen stretches,
breathwork, meditation, and mental imagery, enhancing physical
flexibility and mental resilience.

Suitable for all levels, each session is crafted to be accessible yet
effective, allowing participants to find their own pace and path to
wellness. Students will leave feeling refreshed, centered, and
empowered.

Fitness Class: InBody Composition Challenge [* Members only *]
The InBody Challenge starts soon!  Register now and Win!  With your entry you will receive 2 Private Personal training sessions and a chance to claim the prizes for the top 3.
Unlike other challenges where participants are rewarded for losing weight, this competition rewards those who improve their overall body composition by increasing muscle mass while losing fat.  The winner is the person with the most positive overall change in body composition.
Members can purchase a $100 InBody challenge package at the front desk before January 10 (limited spots available).  The package includes an InBody Analysis at the start and end of the challenge and 2 personal training sessions.  PRIZES 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

1.  Sign up for your initial InBody Analysis via the sign up link found on the front page of www.neighborhoodclub.org.  If you cannot make the initial Analysis, email Becky: becky@neighborhoodclub.org to schedule a different appointment.
2.  Weigh in events throughout the challenge will be with your professional trainer.  You will receive 2 personal training sessions and can also schedule  one-on-one sessions at a cost not included in the registration fee.
3.  The InBody app must be downloaded to track your progress and to use as your nutritional guide.
4.  Stay on track with weekly accountability/update emails.
5. Final InBody Analysis will be between March 10 - 14.  This will be calculated against your initial analysis to determine winners.

Fitness Class: Restoration on the Ball 2025
This self-care course not only goes through physical modalities of self-care, but also into the emotional and spiritual, and helps us to reconnect with the heart and soul of who we are.

This self-care class uses soft therapy ball placement throughout the body to improve posture and relieve pain and tension patterns via myofascial release.  This gentle myofascial release technique supports your overall wellness by activating the parasympathetic nervous system for a more vibrant mind, body and spirit.  Feel like a refreshed an whole version of yourself!

This workshop will teach scientific techniques of Yoga Meditation that are universally accepted to reduce stress and create a sense of upliftment and contentment.  The instructor, Roy E. Thibodeau, has been practicing and teaching Meditation and Yoga for more than 50 years.  All levels of experience Welcome!

Fitness class: Winter Solstice Yoga [* Members only *]
Winter Solstice Yoga Members Only

Prepare for the transition of the new season with this 75 minute Restorative yoga and a guided yoga nidra practice, celebrating the Winter Solstice and a more mellow time of year.
The Winter Solstice marks the longest night, and signals the powerful transition between season.  As we move into winter, the natural world teaches us to pause, slow down, embrace the silence, and welcome the healing and nurturing that comes from stillness.  
During this 75 minute class, Amy will lead you through a series of gentle and supported restorative poses.  After settling into a supported, extended savasana, you will be guided through a yoga nidra meditation designed to nurture the mind, body and soul.
Dress warm and comfortable.  All levels and bodies are welcome.

Membership is required for Normatec compression sleeves.  Purchased packages may be used ONLY by the purchasing member.  Individual packages may not be shared.  Payment & registration transactions are handled at the front desk.
