Field Hockey Camp: Girls Grades 2 - 12

Join your 2nd - 8th grade friends at Neighborhood Club's summer youth field hockey camp!  This is a beginner to intermediate level camp for players looking to grow their field hockey skills through skill repetition with a focus on mastering the fundamentals.  Each session will also include body mechanics, agility games, team competitions and small sided scrimmages.

Field Hockey League Girls Grades 1 - 8 Spring 2024
Season consists of five dynamic sessions, providing a mixture of training, skill development, and game play.  Each session will run for approximately one hour and thirty minutes.

We are looking for parent volunteers to coach - rules and practice curriculum will be provided along with Field Hockey specific coaches training prior to the season.  All equipment except a mouth guard is provided.

Field Hockey League Girls Grades 6 - 8 - Fall 2023
This program is for girls in Grades 6-8. It is a recreational based Field Hockey League playing against other recreation departments and middle school programs in various cities around Metro Detroit.  Games will take place after school at various locations, as far as Novi. Players will need their own transportation. Two tournaments will take place on Saturday mornings - one at University Liggett, and the season-end tournament at Sacred Heart in Bloomfield. Practices will be one to two days per week on weekdays.
Season will run: Sept. 7 - Oct. 22.

                Don't worry, this activity will resume in the fall 2024.

Flag League (1st and 2nd grade) is where you start playing the game the same way as the older kids!  You will be using running and passing plays, too.  The offensive team plays for a first down at midfield and a touchdown in the end zone.  Defensive players can cover receivers, rush the passer and grab flags from the offensive players' belts to make the "tackle".  Special rules designed to make the 1st and 2nd grade flag football program a fun and enjoyable experience for all.  

Flag League (3rd - 8th grade) is where you start putting everything together.  You need to use your head because you'll be using running and passing plays.  The offensive team plays for a first down at midfield and a touchdown in the end zone.  Defensive players can cover receivers, rush the passer and grab flags from the offensive players' belts to make the "tackle".  Register now for this fun league and help improve your child's cardiovascular health, hand-eye coordination and strength.

Players form and manage their own teams with friends.  Each team must have at least one and not more than two representatives to act as a player coach and parent manager.  The Neighborhood Club will assign team names at time of registration.

This is our largest and most successful program for high school boys.  There are limited number of team openings.  Team registration packets will be available at the Neighborhood Club beginning October 2nd, and you can register online.  Once you register online by paying in full, you can claim your team name by coming into the Neighborhood Club and submitting your team roster, concussion forms, and waiver forms.  Your name cannot be claimed until the paperwork is submitted, no exceptions.

All equipment is provided except mouthpiece.

Lacrosse: Try Lacrosse for Free! Co-ed Grades 1-6
Powered by Ken Brubaker (Coach B) and 313 Lacrosse, the Neighborhood Club will offer Free lacrosse  co - ed clinic for grades 1 - 6.  These free clinics are for beginners and novice level boys to learn the basic skills needed to play lacrosse.  Players do not need equipment as sticks will be provided.  If your child has a stick, they are welcome to bring it.  This is your chance to learn more about the game of lacrosse and try if out for FREE!

Pickleball: Kids Pickleball Camp, Ages 7 - 13
Ages 7 - 13 - No experience required.  Bring your own paddle or use one of ours.  Kids will learn basic shots, technique, eiquette, and tactics.  They will also have a blast playing a lot of point-play pickleball games.

Soccer, Required Uniform for Multiple Season Use
All soccer players are required to purchase a $33 uniform kit (reversible jersey, black shorts & socks). The uniform may be worn for multiple soccer seasons.

You can purchase and pick up uniforms anytime we are open!

Ages 4 - 6 years - Fun, laughter and developing athletic skills are the name of the game for this age group.  They are learning basic hand-eye coordination, agility, balance and the rudiments of tennis technique.  We are building better athletes at this stage and using fun games to keep them engaged.  We also work on basic social skills, playing with others, taking turns, and keeping score.  Maximum of 12 participants per class.

Tennis - Ages 4 - 17 Neighborhood Club Kids' Tennis Competition - Summer
Fun, friendly, low-pressure, community based competition. Level-based, non-elimination with a 3 match minimum guarantee. Kids will spend most of their time on-court playing. Each division will last between 1.5 and 2.5 hours. Doubles competition - sign up with a partner or we can match you up with one.

Pee-wees (4-7 years old): 9:00-10:30 am - Red balls. Any child who can serve underhand with some reliability is welcome in this event. Simplified serving and scoring will be used in this group. Court monitors will help them keep score. If you can count to 7, you can keep score in this one.

Beginner Level (7-13 years old): 10:30 am-12:30 pm - Orange balls. Participants in this group can rally an easy ball reliably, but cannot hit topspin reliably nor use a continental grip. Simplified serving and scoring will be used in this group. If you can drop feed an orange ball and count to 7, you can play and keep score in this division.

Intermediate Level (9-17 years old): 12:30-3:00 pm - Yellow balls. Participants in this group are able to hit topspin reliably and are beginning to develop continental grip skills. Traditional no-ad scoring and serving will be used in this group. Players must be able to serve and keep score on their own. They should be USTA 3.0 equivalent or below.
