Lifeguard Certification Courses

STUDENTS MUST ATTEND ALL SCHEDULED DAYS AND TIMES OF IN-PERSON COURSE AND COMPLETE THE ONLINE COURSE.
Must be at least 15 years of age by the last day of class.
This class provides entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over.  Participants who successfully complete the Lifeguarding course receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First aid/CPR/AED, valid for 2 years.  
The 7-hour online component will be emailed to participants one week prior to the start of class. This component must be completed and passed by the first day.

Prerequisites must be passed on the first day of class:
~  Swim 300 yards continuously using breaststroke or freestyle technique
~  Tread water for 2 minutes using only legs
~  Swim 20 yards, submerge to a depth of 5 feet to retrieve a 10lb brick.  Return to the surface and swim 20 yards  to the starting point.  Exit water without using a ladder or steps.

FEE:  $250 (includes non-refundable course fee, fanny pack, Lifeguard e-Manual, Pocket CPR Mask, certification fee and bridge course option)  If a participant cancels 7 days prior to the start of the class, only a $15 processing fee will be deducted.  If a participant cancels less than 7 days prior, only the $41 certification fee will be refunded.  If the participant does not pass the class only the $41 certification fee is elegible to be refunded.
